Do you remember the first time? #2

Right, it's time for more firsts. If nothing else, it shows that I remain dedicated to completing my 30 Before 30...

Here's the new things I've done during the past few weeks (lots of food-related things, as usual!):
  • Went to Camden with Beth, Jenna and Fee.
  • Won a pancake race.
  • Ate a Harvester platter (worth every one of the 990 calories).
  • Ate an Easter egg in the cinema.
  • Ate at Cafe Rouge.
  • Helped my Mum lose her Nando's virginity ('That's good chicken.').
  • Worn size 10 jeans as an adult (proof that I don't eat quite as constantly as this blog might suggest!).
  • Visited Canterbury.

I have a few more new things in the pipeline for the next couple of weeks, and if all goes to plan I'll be able to tick off a few more 30 Before 30 goals very soon...

A Canterbury Tale.

Last weekend I went to visit my brother and his girlfriend in their new flat in Canterbury. My Mum and Dad came too, which was good because, a) they gave me a lift and b) they bought me dinner and breakfast. And, you know, they're good company. (I had to write the last bit because my Mum reads this... Hi Mum.)

I've never been to Canterbury before but I'd been told by a few different people that it was nice, and I wasn't disappointed. Lots of cobbled streets and old buildings. And lots of pubs. And a Cath Kidston shop. And my brother gave me a Cath Kidston voucher for my birthday. Score.

Here's the pictures:

Had to include a food picture at some point, and that is pretty much my ideal breakfast. I also had some top quality Pick and Mix, including coconut marshmallow squares.... Amazing, and a good size-to-weight ratio, which is important in a Pick and Mix item. Needless to say, the weekend brought with it a pretty epic diet fail. But that's what weekends are for, right?

Did you get up to anything exciting at the weekend?

WAMK: TARGET HIT, baby!

As I wrote on Friday, I've recently gone through a bit of a blip. It's been a pretty difficult few weeks, but there is one MASSIVE silver lining...

I'VE HIT MY WEIGHT-LOSS TARGET!

I honestly never thought I'd get there, so this feels like a bit of a gift. I now have to keep the weight off, which will probably be something of a challenge. I've done OK this week, downloading the My Fitness Pal app has helped because it helps me to keep a realistic picture of how many calories I've consumed. Work has been as physical as usual and I've made it to the gym twice, so I'm feeling good about all things body-related this week.

Next week, however, includes my birthday, four meals out and not many opportunities for going to the gym. Hmmmm....

Blip!

Apologies for the recent hiatus in my blogging/commenting. I hit a bit of a blip, which I guess was sort of inevitable (as I've often been told, recovery is not normally a steady, upwards journey). I'm OK now though, and life is slowly returning to normal. Phew!

I've got lots of adventures (about 90% of them food related) planned for the next few weeks, so I'm hoping to get back into the routine of posting and share it all with you.

But for now....

Here's to blips (rather than relapses!)

Cheers!

WAMK: Hold it for HOW long?!

Last week I started my new programme at the gym. It feels really good to be doing more challenging exercises, because I'd been doing the old programme for a while and it had become a bit too comfortable. The new circuit really focuses on my legs and seems to involve a LOT of squats (and then holding the position for a ridiculously long amount of time...). Well, I probably only hold it for about 10 seconds but it feels ridiculous!

I didn't do a weigh-in this week because I've been really busy, but I've been eating quite well. I do seem to be in the habit of having unhealthy weekends, so I'm not expecting major weight loss any time soon! I also tried to give up snacking for lent, but this only lasted for approximately 12 hours. I honestly wish that was an exaggeration! I've said it before and I'll doubtless say it again: I love food.

I'm back, baby!

Sorry for the week of radio silence...

If you follow me on twitter you'll be all too aware that I've spent the last 10 days packing, moving and sorting things out. I hate moving house because I just get so stressed about everything. I'm so glad that most of the hard work is done now; why is it always the way that things that should be simple to do end up taking hours?!

My other lame excuse for not blogging (or commenting) is that I don't have a computer at the moment, which does make it extra difficult to keep up with what's going on in the blogsphere.

Excuses over now, hopefully posting will resume in earnest next week!
